THE BEST BOOKS OF 2017: A VERY SUBJECTIVE LIST by MARK LYNCH, host of INQUIRY.

Every week I read from 2 to 4 books for WICN’s “Inquiry”. Generally, I focus on arts and sciences, but I will also cover other subjects that catch my interest. Here’s my list of my TOP 15 BOOKS OF 2017 written by authors I had a chance to talk with. They are in no particular order.  I am happy to say that almost ALL the authors I talked with were fascinating and their books worth reading, but here are my “tops” based on a number of factors. Some titles have two links under them because I had the author back to continue the discussion.

Henry Roland Byrd, better known as Professor Longhair, or if you’re a true follower – ‘Fess - was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana on December 19, 1918. Considered to be one of the most influential piano players in a city rich with influential piano players and musicians, he embodies (and practically invented) the instantly recognizable New Orleans sound anyone familiar with it knows and loves.
